Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Bites

French toast bites???

Yep you heard me! Just when you think french toast couldn't get any yummier, it's made into tiny french toast bites. So cute, and so delicious.

These Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Bites are so charming, so fun to make and really delicious! I myself like french toast, but I'm not crazy about it. I find that it had a very soft and almost..soggy centre, so the textures just put me off! However, these french toast bites are so crispy, yet so light and airy! There covered in cinnamon and sugar which gives the overall flavour that kick that i feel it needs!

Serve with maple syrup, fruit or cream, or for that added sweetness, some Nutella spread! Perfect breakfast, brunch treat which you can whip up in no time!

Ingredients:

  • White bread loaf, uncut

  • 4 eggs

  • 60ml whole milk

  • Pinch of salt

  • 100g light soft brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder

  • Unsalted butter, for frying

  • Maple syrup, to serve

Method:

1. In a medium sized bowl, add in the eggs, milk and salt. Whisk until combined. Set aside.

2. Slice the loaf into 4 slices (about 4-5cm width). Then slicing into cubes of 9 per slice.

3. Add a knob of butter to a large frying pan over a medium-high heat.

4. Dip each cube of bread into the egg mixture - making sure that it is coated well, then place on the frying pan. Continue this step until the pan has about 6-7 pieces.

5. Whilst your french toast bites are cooking, add the cinnamon powder and sugar into a small bowl and set aside.

6. Cook each side until golden brown, rotating each at a time until all are cooked.

7. Once they have been toasted on all sides, removed from the heat. Coat one cube at a time into the cinnamon and sugar mixture.

8. Continue the process for the remaining toast.

9. Serve with some maple syrup, fruit or Nutella and enjoy!

Notes

  • These are best eaten immediately, if they are left out for too long they will become soggy.
